On October 14, the Paris Motor Show closed. Its 120th anniversary was overshadowed by the withdrawal of over a dozen producers; However, the exhibition in the Porte de Versailles was watched by more than a million viewers. Here is a selection of ten of the most important models from this year’s edition.
Peugeot e-Legend Concept
Undoubtedly, it was the main star of the show — nothing more than a concept. The E-Legend is inspired by the classic 504 Coupe, but built entirely on electric propulsion. The creator of this beauty is the chief designer of Peugeot Gilles Vidal. By the way, an online petition to the Peugeot boss to launch the car in production has collected 25,000 signatures in just three days.
The long-awaited seventh generation of the most classic BMW may disappoint those who expected a design revolution. In appearance, the car is a moderate improvement over the previous one. Inside, however, things are completely different: a new platform, new engines, including a plug-in hybrid, and a completely new information system with a 10-inch touch screen, gesture control and a smart assistant that you can literally talk to. Of course, there will be an M3 version, but don’t expect it before 2020.
Mercedes GL
for a long time they doubted which Mercedes premiere was more interesting — the new B-Class or GLE. However, there is no dispute that will be the most sought after in Bulgaria.
The new GLE is slightly sharper than the previous one and has an 8 cm longer wheelbase. The boot already holds an impressive 825 liters, which is the best in the class. Finally, there will be a seven-seat version.
Inside, the car received Mercedes’ latest dual-screen multimedia and intelligent assistant. It can also stop and enter traffic on its own.
Ferrari Monza SP1
Inspired by 50s classics like the 750 Monza Spyder, this single-seat supercar is made almost entirely of carbon fiber and powered by Ferrari’s legendary V12 engine. It will be produced in a very limited series and sold to selected buyers for an amount approaching three and a half million euros.
Skoda Vision RS
This is just a prototype. But from its rather bold design — Josef Kaban’s last creation before his move to BMW — will be born the next generation Skoda Rapid (which will likely change its name to Scala). The Czechs plan to tighten up their current budget model and pit it against the likes of the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus.
Winfast
If you’ve never heard the name VinFast before, don’t worry. It’s a brand new Vietnamese company — doesn’t sound very enticing. But VinFast has access to huge funds, and it was no coincidence that David Beckham was at their booth in Paris. The first two models are in the premium segment, with Austrian AVL engines (essentially versions of the old BMW engine, but without the variable Valvetronic valve), transmissions from Germany’s ZF and development by Pininfarina.
Kia ProCeed
Until now, this was the name of the three-door version of Ceed. From now on, it will be a separate model — something like a sports van with two doors. The buttstock distinguishes it from other variants in the family. Otherwise, the inside of the Proceed is practically a doppelgänger of the Ceed hatchback, except for the sports seats. The most powerful version will have a 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine with 205 horsepower.
Porsche 911 Speedster
On paper, this is just a concept model. In practice, however, the new 911 Speedster is already in production, albeit in a very limited run of 1948 units. It will have the same 4-liter naturally aspirated 6-cylinder boxer engine as the GT3, with a maximum output of 500 horsepower.
Renault K-ZE
Renault has unveiled some futuristic luxury concepts in Paris, but far more important than that may be this humble electric car that goes on sale in the Chinese market next year. K-ZE, strongly reminiscent of the Dacia Sandero, will have 250 kilometers on a single charge and will cost around 20,000 leva. Who said electric cars are prohibitively expensive?
Mercedes EQC
Its premiere took place almost a month before Paris, but here the public first touched this first model of the new Mercedes electric range. This compact crossover wants to compete with the Tesla Model X and for this purpose offers a maximum power of 405 horsepower, 765 Nm of torque and just 5.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h. A mileage of 450 kilometers on a single charge.
